From February 22 to 28, Han Shenghao, Vice President of SDU, led a delegation to Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and University of Malaya to take part in the International Forum on "the Belt and Road" Initiative and Talent Training, and to carry out inter-school exchanges and cooperation. Zhang Xumin, Minister Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Singapore, Cham Tao Soon, member of Tan Chin Tuan Foundation and honorary President of NTU, Xu Guanlin, honorary president of NTU, Yu Minghua, senior advisor of the President's Office and former Vice President of NTU, Lin Bin, NTU Provost and Vice President (Academic), Chen Hongwei, member of the Standing Committee of CPC SDU Committee and Director of Department of Organization of SDU attended the forum.
Han made a report entitled "Opinions on Deepening the Reform of Personnel System and Mechanism and Fully Promoting the Construction of First-class University" at the forum. He shared with the participants the ideas and innovations of personnel mechanism reform of SDU from the aspects of the overall trend of the international higher education, the background of national "Double-First Class" initiative, the development strategy and tasks of SDU. He also shared the measures, as well as the practice in attracting talents at home and abroad and promoting international talent training.
During the forum, Han met respectively with Lin Bin, Tjin Swee Chuan, Associate Provost (Graduate Education) of NTU, Lalit Goel, Director of Renaissance Engineering Program, Miao Chunyan and Vun Chan Hua Nicholas, Chair and Associate Chair (Academic) of the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Liu Hong and Wang Hang, Director and Senior Supervisor of Nanyang Centre for Public Administration, to carry out joint training of students and promote artificial intelligence. Issues on scientific research cooperation, staff training and other issues were also discussed. During the forum, Han also visited University of Malaya and Xiamen University Malaysia Branch in an effort to further strengthen cooperation and exchanges with the two universities.
The International Forum on "the Belt and Road" Initiative and Talent Training is co-sponsored by Nanyang Technological University and Tan Chin Tuan Foundation. Representatives from more than 20 universities in China participated in the forum.
